Episode 7: Interview with Deborah Amato
In this episode we interviewed Deborah Amato, the Deputy Chief Technologist at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.
Deborah Amato manages Goddard’s Internal Research and Development program, which invests in advanced technologies for future missions. Ms. Amato began her aerospace engineering career as a mechanical engineer, specializing in mechanical design, thermal and structural analyses, and systems engineering for small scientific instruments. Her background also includes integration and testing, instrument management, and collaborative engineering. Before becoming the Deputy Chief Technologist, Ms. Amato worked as the Senior Systems Engineer at Goddard’s Integrated Design Center, where early mission and instrument concept studies are conducted. Ms. Amato received a B.S. in Aeronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a M.S. in Aeronautics Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.
